be all talk: 말뿐이다, 말만 하고 아무것도 안하다

hype: 광고, 선전

joke: 우스갯소리, 농담

 

중간에 Then he wants to win~ 부분은 Then이라고 들리는데 cake는 there 라고 되어있고 유튭은 Now he 로 되어 있어서 뭐가 맞는지 모르겠다.

별로 복잡한 건 아니예요.

영국 영어는 정말 괴랄한 것 같다. 딕테이션으로는 전혀 못 알아들을 말들...

저 내용의 they는 shoes였음. 그래서 it이 아니라 they.

 

그거 나한테 안 맞을 것 같아. 

 

 

4. The old ways server us no longer.

Magic blooms, only in rare souls. Still we must skulk in shadows. But the old ways serve us no longer.

 

skulk: 숨다, 남의 눈을 피하다

serve: 도움이 되다, 기여하다

no longer: 더 이상 ~하지 않는

 

이것도 신비한 동물 사전 내용인 듯. 자꾸 whole은 while로 serve는 server로 오타낸다.

 

옛날의 방식은 더 이상 우리에게 도움이 되지 않습니다.

 

5. Beef up

"Beef up" means to improve or make something stronger. This is an imformal phrasal verb, however you will hear this quite often in business english conversations.

 

Luke: Wow Nikki, nice car! Is it new?

Nikki: Yeah, I bought it last week.

Luke: It's amazing! And check out those fancy wheels.

Nikki: Actually, I bought the wheels seperately to beef the car up a bit.

Luke: It looks awesome. Can I give it a drive?

Nikki: No chance!

 

"to beef up something" means to improve or make something stronger.

This is a seperable phrasal verb -- so "beef my car up" can be "beef up my car".
